James Cockerill creates contemporary stained glass using traditional materials combined with modern techniques such as silk screen printing and sandblasting. Translating personal and archival photography into permanent glass installations, his work explores themes of memory, belonging, and place. His layered, kiln-fired pieces capture light in ways unique to the medium - shifting and transforming as the viewer moves, inviting them to become part of the work itself.
